Chapter 180: Breaking Point

Emma has no idea how badly I wanted to be there, I was close to the Covenstead, very close but deep in the forest and out of sight, I was already making my way there before trying her line again, she has no idea just how hysterical I was, I was just trying to play it cool for her sake, but I was reaching my limit. Being apart from her was literally insane for me and actual fire ready to burn. I knew this is how it would be when she decided to pick both, I knew there would be some time I would have to let her go but that was like pointing a knife at my neck.
We did have that talk that night as she tried to reason with me to go back and learn, I was unsettled, not just because she will leave my side but because of the toll magic does, I very well consider it a price and it didn’t sit well with me, especially when she’s a half-witch, and Emma... fuck my baby girl was fragile and slight pain was like hell to her, I feel like I shouldn’t have let her go, I really shouldn’t have.
Looking at her now over the screen was not enough, I wanted to barge into there and see her for myself, but I can’t, even though Emma has chosen me I can’t enter the Covenstead unannounced but I was dying to, it was torture of the highest order.
"But I will behave as best as I can... just like you told me," I told her, but at the back of my head I was far from that, I told her that only to put her at ease but I was splitting inside, I was trying to keep a clear head and a calm expression but as soon as I ended this video call I would break something.
Lucas was annoying me with his noise from behind. I think I will break his neck to ease my body, he will heal.
"I-I didn’t say that"
My baby girl’s voice broke me from my dark thoughts, fuck even through the phone her soft tender voice mixed with innocence and shyness was enough to calm the storm inside me, that was just how special she was to me, so fucking special, just for me.
"Well you told me to be understanding" I mused tilting my head to the side, although the camera was closed it seems like she settled her phone on a book or something because judging from the environment she was in the library. I got a better look at her outfit and I couldn’t help the swelling of pride knowing she was wearing one of the ones we shopped. Yes, I memorized all of them, call me weird but this is just me when it comes to her. I wanna know what she’s thinking, what she ate, how many times she smiled, just about everything. It was hard getting the day by without thinking of any of that.
She nodded with a blush before speaking "I’m learning magic now" She said as her features beamed. "Just one or two of it"
