BLOOD LEGACIES

I was a panting mess by the time I got to the other hall, my attempts were futile because I kept tripping on my damn heels, numerous times. I was both in panic, scared, and worried for Owen. He was out there facing that vampire alone, just one of them took a heavy toll on his body, but staying back there, what could I possibly do? I have watched as that poor girl got assaulted by that vampire unable to do anything, I felt stupid and helpless and now Owen was out there all alone.

I puffed, leaning my back against the wall, I was shaking, and fear chilled my bones, what should I do? I was still trapped here and running out wasn’t exactly an option either. I tried to calm my breathing but I couldn’t, I felt like I was having an asthma attack and the tears streaming down my cheeks couldn’t stop either.

What should I do? How will I get help? When will the authorities get here? The barrier is broken, does it mean it was all over? I remembered the stories Vanessa told me, vampires were ruthless creatures that had no regard for anything, they only focused on feeding and their main target were mostly supernaturals, because of the power in their blood, they hunt humans too but not as much as supernaturals.

Now that the barrier was broken does this mean it was over for Juneau? My breath grew more in a shaky pitch, the rest of the families didn’t stand a chance against them, except.... werelions.

I slide my phone out, I can call Dace, I don’t have the call line for an emergency even if I did, did they know about the supernatural? Only the werelions had the power here and...

The sudden sound of deep growls snapped me out of my thoughts and I ceased where I was. It was followed by footsteps that echoed around the hall. That was definitely a vampire.

I tried crawling but I felt a sting from my knee, from my fall earlier when the vampire dropped me. I was already bleeding.

I heard a sniffing sound, I knew it was my blood, I had to run because I knew they will get me because of this, hiding was not an option right now I have to get as far away as possible! I rose to my feet and I bolted as fast I could, I have to be fast enough, I don’t know where to... all I knew was I should keep running but I slammed on something and the force caused me to drop to the ground with a ground, my body hurts now from all the falling and I was sore, I ended up bruise my elbow this time, the pain so so agonizing that it shocks my brain.

I looked up and my heart dropped when I saw red eyes on me.

"You think you can outrun a vampire?" he said like I was crazy, yes I was crazy! I knew that now, I was damned for the moment I let myself get hurt, my blood was on display for him.
