Chapter 77: What’s Real?
Dace dropped me off at home, he really didn’t have to do this, I eyed the latest iPhone model I now personally own, merely ogling it like it was dropped from the sky. I begged him to just get me my old phone model. I was cool with that as long as I could browse and make calls, but he was stubborn and insisted I needed this, both embarrassment and slightly feeling light-headed, I had no choice but to agree to it.
I sighed, but I couldn’t help but admire my new phone though, the body was gold just like Dace’s eyes sometimes, and a smooth texture and perfect unlike the other phone I had, I smiled and both blushed, he was sweet, really sweet, and it made my heart flutter multiple times.
I remembered murmuring a ’Thank you,’ and still blushing in embarrassment and as usual, he teases me and flicks my glasses, making me blush more like a kid, my gaze leveled the entire time.
I shook my head, my prolonged daydreaming will make me catch a cold out here, I should get inside, it was late and the skies were dark already. My hand found the door knob. It’s locked? That means Vanessa wasn’t home yet, so I quickly searched for my keys in my bag. Why was the entrance dark? The lights were always on, I couldn’t see anything, did the lights malfunction again?
"I can’t see anything" I murmured and the lights mysteriously flick on, okay, maybe having a touchy switch then.
I found my keys and unlocked the door, the lights were flickering but with my presence, they stopped. I sighed, but then I became puzzled because my release breath was of cold steam, odd because the weather wasn’t that cold, it wasn’t even winter, so how?
Seems like I got an answer to my question when I suddenly shivered from an unknown cold. I rubbed my arms together and my teeth chattered, okay now it was really really cold, I was freezing, this was no mountain but yet it seemed like it.
That wasn’t enough to freak me out because the floors were suddenly being covered in ice, okay what the heck was going on?
I watched frozen and wide-eyed as the mysterious ice covered the entire house, like a white blanket, this looked like a movie playing in some sort of 3D but I knew it wasn’t, this was fucking real and the more I experienced this, the more I was starting to freak out.
