Mate? Aurora looked into Reaper’s eyes and finally realized all the unavoidable attraction she felt towards the man and wolf.
It made sense to her. All of it made sense to them. The way they loved each other and were madly obsessed with each other made their bond even stronger than the true mate bond. It was all because they were each other’s mates.
"You are my first true mate. Now I know why I never felt close to Cordelia or my wolf touched her. It’s because our mate has always been you. We couldn’t recognize you because you never transformed," Maverick said.
Aurora nodded at him.
That was the only reasonable explanation for why they couldn’t meet earlier. They had different mates who felt nothing for them, and their bonds turned out to be fake and painful.
It was because they were never real mate bonds, to begin with.
Maverick was about to grab Aurora’s hand and place his forehead on hers when they heard a twig snapping. Their heads turned to Glacier and his team, who had returned to check on why Ethan hadn’t returned and what was taking his rogue team so long to finish those useless pack members.
Aurora looked at the painful marks on Maverick’s body, the signs of foul play that Glacier did with him by using silver and wolfsbane evident.
They dared to hurt her mate to such an extent.
Aurora was about to jump forward to attack Glacier when someone beat her to it.
