VALENCIA’S POV
I looked at the man in pure amazement as he pulled me up in his embrace. His features were enhanced in the moonlight, giving me a picturesque view of his illuminating side profile, like the first full moon of my happy life.
Tomorrow was a Blue Moon, so maybe that was why the moon was shining so bright tonight.
Or maybe it was because I was going in heat that Maverick looked so magnificent to me.
I mean, he always looks handsome, but today he was just looking like someone I want to—
"Will you throw me in the chilling water to calm my heat?" I asked.
Maverick paused and looked into my eyes.
A smirk appeared on his face.
It was one of those evil smirks full of mischievousness, and I couldn’t help but feel giddiness taking over my heart as the sudden feeling of butterflies in my stomach overwhelmed me in anticipation of what he had in mind.
"Oh, I don’t have any such wish, my love. Why would I throw you in the chilling water to calm your heat when I can fulfill your every desire tonight?" He asked, and I gulped.
My body shivered in response to his words. The closer we got to the pond, the chillier the air became, making me want to find warmth in the embrace of the man I was in his arms.
