Chapter 286: A little break
VALENCIA’S POV
I looked out of the window, standing still. The picturesque view of the forests after the little pond was indeed enough to mesmerize someone.
It has been seventeen days since we talked with the lycans, and to say the days since then have been going in a pretense to be happy would be an understatement.
Every single day, we wake up. Maverick trains me for four hours to help me become stronger, even making me fight with his beta and other men from time to time before we deal with the rogues from the packs and stuff like that.
So far, we have dealt with the rogue intervention in eleven small packs and two large-scale packs, of which only three were left to be properly dealt with.
Most of the things and freeing them from the rogues while killing the rogues around them was done. We just needed the alpha to sign the pact contract with us and the council to ensure they wouldn’t make the same mistake of trusting the rogues to gain power over the other packs.
I had to reveal my rogue team for these operations, and they have been helping Maverick’s team a lot. Though they still don’t trust each other that much for obvious reasons, they don’t outwardly express it either.
Even after so many weeks, I had been unsuccessful in finding my people who belonged to the Phoenix pack, and I was starting to lose hope.
The rogues who were working for me proposed the idea of a new pack where all of them were ready to join, but it was a long process with all the paperwork: getting the land, getting permission, and showing the council the complete layout, and I didn’t have that kind of time on my hands yet.
However, I promised them that they would be working under me directly or indirectly in the future.
I drew one more painting and strictly forbade mavericks from interfering in it. I sold that painting for $2.5 million, a reasonably good price, given my time on it.
