VALENCIA’S POV
"What are you looking at?" Maverick sat beside me and held my hand, mimicking my position and placing his foot into the pond’s cold water.
I smiled at him and shook my head.
We were back in the Dark Callisto pack and were sitting near one of the city’s ponds.
It was calming and felt peaceful, a complete contrast to what our lives were.
Maverick had some work to do in the police station, so he dropped Shadow and me off by the forest to attend to his work.
I didn’t deny it when Shadow asked me if I would like him to show me around.
He said he knew I liked water bodies and brought me here.
I have been sitting here since then.
"Is your work done?" I asked, and the man hummed, his fingers massaging the back of my knuckles
