Chapter 200: Fear and Rage
VALENCIA’S POV
Maverick wasn’t looking at me.
I asked him thrice already what this was all about, but he didn’t answer me.
"Can you not ask and worry about it?" he asked me, and I wanted to tell him that if ignoring things was going to make our situation alright, I would’ve started doing it long ago.
What we need is a solution to what is happening, action against the problem, and, more than that, honesty with each other.
Now that the truth about me being a rogue was out, I had no plans to hide anything from him.
’Who are you kidding? Have you told him that you are building a rogue army yourself and you are akin to a shapeshifter yourself?’ Aurora asked me, shutting my thoughts immediately.
"Fine. Let’s not talk about it. But we need to be careful of whoever it is," I said to Maverick, who hummed.
My pupils dilated when, within minutes, an army of soldiers started to encircle the forest. My heart thumped loudly when I finally saw half the power of the Dark Callisto pack as their alpha was put at risk.
"Must be a rogue. Look for him," Maverick said to a random man, who nodded and left with his team.
I observed how none of the men dared to raise their heads towards me, let alone look into my eyes before leaving.
