Chapter 146: Chosen me?
VALENCIA’S POV
I knew it was going to be hard, facing him and taking all the scoldings but I didn’t know he would act like that when I saw him.
I had expected Dylan to lash out at me, but to my surprise, rather than scolding me about things, he held my hand and pulled me in for a hug, stuffing his face in the crook of my neck.
It has been 5 minutes since he has been hugging me and I don’t know what to do anymore.
It is always easy for me to get around whenever anyone scolds me because that’s exactly what I expect them to do, but when they act like this...
My body was finally relaxing in his embrace and my heart was starting to find solace as he tightened his hold on me.
"I am sorry," I finally muttered the words.
I had no plans to apologize. It wasn’t my fault, but Dylan didn’t deserve it either. He has been anything but good to me ever since we met the first time he came to look for me because I was a lantern and he needed to check up on me in the name of customary check of lanterns.
"I will never forgive you if you ever leave like that again. This time I had a vague idea where to find you because of the last conversation we had and you mentioned your interest in coming here. What would I have done if you had gone somewhere else?" Dylan said.
A sense of guilt washed over me before I sighed.
"Whatever," I said, not wanting to admit that his words were making my heart feel warm.
