Chapter 64: Predatory desire
VALENCIA’S POV
I opened my eyes, ready to see some concerned faces and people asking me if I needed to cause and find trouble all the time.
However, nothing like this happened.
I groaned and looked around when I noticed I was probably in the back room of the same cafe I had arrived at to buy some cold coffee for me.
What the hell? I nearly took the heavy blow for Shadow, and he couldn’t afford to take me to the hospital.
I mean, it’s not that I am excited to get admitted into one, hating the smell of the disinfectant, but still...
I moved, ready to get down from the couch, when the door of the room opened and Shadow walked in.
As soon as he saw I was awake, his gaze darkened, almost like a predator, and he closed the door.
"Hey," I said, feeling conscious of our surroundings and the fact that we were alone in this room as I saw him bolting the door, making me gulp.
"You have a weird habit of making me worried about you all the time, no?" He walked to me before placing some food on the table.
I cleared my throat, ready to ask him if this was supposed to be the words of someone whose life I saved.
