Sarah looked at the bodyguard with shaken eyes. A flash of betrayal came for a second.
Hajin sighed and stroked her cheeks softly, but he didn’t change the firmness in his voice. "You know we can’t, Princess," he said. "Not now."
Sarah bit her lips hard as she tried to prevent more tears from coming out. Yeah, she knew. Of course, she knew.
She was neither naive nor hopeful. Nothing would change much even if they burst inside and took those people away. In fact, those people would face an even worse fate afterward. And what would stop this accursed group from doing it to someone new? Nothing.

"Because we know better that a half-baked act of heroism sometimes brings more harm," Hajin said. He thought that was why he from the previous timeline left the house first instead of taking Sarah away immediately. "You don’t have to berate yourself just because you feel guilty."
