Chapter 91 - 90. Beneath The Chandelier
Most of the conglomerates’ parties were held in luxurious hotels or their lavish residences, but as the pillar of the country’s economy, Mirae’s founding party was held in the national cultural hall, where the government usually held international diplomatic events.
It was glittering without being gaudy; a calculated opulence befitting the name of Mirae, who held the future of the country’s economic prowess. Naturally, the guest tried to match the vibe, wearing something elegant and avoiding anything vulgar.
Like brightly colored hair and an exposed tattoo.
The first thing people notice was a very dashing man coming out of the car to drop the key to the valet. The three-piece suit accentuated a broad shoulder and trained physique as he walked to the back seat and opened the door. In place of a tie, a chocker with black gem and a single platinum letter of J circled his neck, giving an elegant yet slightly wild vibe.
The second thing people noticed was the luscious, strawberry milk hair and an exposed shoulder adorned with ink to the elbow. A menacing whip, coiling protectively as if ready to lash out at anyone who offended her. The soft feature of the face attached to it was hidden behind the sharp eye makeup.
At first, people looked at them in confusion, thinking they were a pair of an actor and an idol that Mirae invited as an MC or entertainer. They did look the part--at least in terms of visuals.
But then again, would Mirae use a celebrity with a tattoo to host its event? The guests didn’t think so. Besides, the celebrities should be very well-known if they were to work at Mirae’s event, and none of the guests felt like they had seen those faces on television.
Not to mention, working celebrities wouldn’t look that intimate with each other. From the way she circled her arm on his elbow and kept patting him, they almost looked like lovers.
Maybe if the man didn’t look so tense, as if he was forced to come to the party.
And then it came to them; the rumors that had been floating around in the upper circle, about the second daughter of the HS Group.
