Burning The House Of Cards: taking revenge on my billionaire family

Chapter 30 - 29. Mischievous Little Butterfly

The Chief sighed in frustration.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious that this demand was unreasonable.

It was more apparent the more candidates failed miserably during the test, one by one. Everything was just because the young miss was acting up, and the eldest son adhered to it as a ruse. The Chief was pretty sure that in the end, the young miss would be told that no one fulfilled the condition and he had to choose someone already listed in the security division.

The Chief knew these people didn’t really have all the skills listed in the requirement. But he also thought there wouldn’t be any. After all, if there existed someone who carried all of these skills inside their body, wouldn’t that person already be in employment somewhere? Like in a royal palace or NIS or something?

Or so he thought, until that man’s turn came.

The man stood out from the start, which was why he got drowned, left out of the Chief’s interest. Because the man stood out due to his appearance, he didn’t even bother to look into the man’s files.

Until the man owned the stage, that is.

During the fighting stage of the test, the candidates were given difficulty levels. They could choose how many people they wanted to fight with—from one to five. Of course, the more people they faced, the more points they would get—assuming they win.

Some people who weren’t confident in the other aspect chose to fight more, hoping for more points there. Those who wanted to conserve their stamina for the housekeeping part and their concentration for the verbal explanation part chose the lowest difficulty.

What they didn’t think over was; would the existing bodyguard chosen to be their opponent even let them win? These people were the people who would be installed as the young miss’s bodyguards if no one managed to pass. Certainly, there was animosity there towards the candidates.

No one who chose more than one opponent managed to leave the arena unscathed. One even fell unconscious while another one had a broken arm. People steadily chose just one opponent after that, but they left the arena completely exhausted and the rest of their test was a mess. Regardless of whether they managed to concoct a meal or produce a cup of coffee, the sound coming from their mouth wasn’t even proper language anymore, just a wheezing and gasping sound.
