The men grew increasingly angry as they listened.
But deep within the courtyard, in the inner hall, a burly man with knotted muscles stood silently in the upper seat. "How many years have you been with me?" Qiao Yifei looked at the old man’s hunched figure, unable to help but reminisce.
"Almost forty years now." Steward Zhou raised his head, his aged eyes showing a flash of concern.
As he stared at Qiao Yifei’s face, he seemed to notice the desolation, and his heart trembled with surprise.
Thinking about Qiao Yifei’s situation, he couldn’t help but feel a quiver in his chest.
