Chapter 10 - 9: Fairness
"Lin boy, are you out of jerky? I'll have my boy send some over to you when we get back. You got injured recently, and I haven't had the chance to check on you since you went hunting in the back mountains."
Hearing Lin Yuan's words, Wang Mingyong laughed heartily, his cheerful voice extremely amiable.
He then patted the black bear carried by a few people behind him.
"Look at this sly creature. We waited for it three times before finally catching it. This is a treasure from head to toe."
The men carrying the black bear also burst into smiles upon hearing this.
"The bear may be good, but people aren't necessarily so!" Lin Yuan, however, disregarded Wang Mingyong's feigned friendliness and said coldly.
"Captain Wang, you must be very clear about the item you desire, right?"
"Lin boy, what do you mean by that? Do I owe you something?" Wang Mingyong's smile faded: "Since you were a child, who raised you because you lost your parents? It was us elders risking our lives in the mountains to bring back meat, giving you the conditions to learn martial arts, wasn't it?"
Wang Mingyong displayed the posture of an elder: "Show some respect to us who raised you!"
"Understand?" Wang Mingyong looked at Lin Yuan with a cold gaze, a trace of an inexplicable expression on his lips.
With these words, the originally harmonious atmosphere suddenly became tense.
