Chapter 7: Dead End
The door was huge, honored with golden and intricate writings that seemed to dance across its surface.
The door was covered in a fine layer of dust as it looked like it hadn’t been opened for years.
Ning’s heart pounded with anticipation as he stumbled to his feet. He reached out a trembling hand and touched the door, feeling a surge of energy run through his body.
The writings on the door seemed to shimmer and he felt a strange sensation as though he was being pulled through the door itself.
He stepped forward and the door creaked open revealing a long, winding corridor beyond.
Ning Que took a deep breath as he stepped through the doorway.
As he walked, the corridor seemed to stretch on forever, the walls lined with intricate carvings that depicted great battles and powerful magic.
His eyes widened in shock as he took in the sights, his mind reeling with the implications.
He was getting close and he could feel it.
Finally, the air around him began to grow thicker , like a fog trying to suffocate him. He held his throat gasping for air as he struggled to find his way through.
Then the air began to clear, relieving him of the impending danger that had once threatened him.
