Chapter 62: Antivenom
The doctors soon came over, and Doman was immediately attended to, with Patricia staying to watch the procedure the whole time. At a point, she got frustrated seeing them treat it with no urgency, but knowing how risky a venom removal was, she knew they were trying their best.
Any little mistake or delay could kill him. Venom moves fast, it could find its way to his heart or, even worse, his brain.
"Miss Patricia, were you able to identify the snake? The doctors need a better view of the type of snake they are dealing with," Kay, who was now standing beside Patricia, inquired, causing her to utter a silent "oh," looking away as she frantically searched her memory for the type of snake it was. Not all snake venoms were capable of causing migraines or affecting the body system, which narrowed it down to five types of snakes she could think of now.
It was a small snake with bright colors, and if its effects resembled those of a neurotoxic venom, then maybe... mamba? No, wait...a coral snake!
Turning to face Kay with widened eyes, she revealed, "It was a coral snake!" Her voice came out louder than she thought.
"Thank you," Kay said, returning to the side of the doctors, who were already searching for the antivenom they would use.
Relieved a little bit, Patricia chewed on her finger as she watched the doctors scramble around, causing her worry to grow. It had been over fifteen minutes since she told them which snake it was, why were they still looking for the antivenom?
"How far is it from here?" She heard the lead doctor ask, observing how restless they all looked.
Impatient, Patricia walked up to the lead doctor and questioned, "What is the hold-up for? He should be treated now," her voice raised a little, not out of anger, but out of worry.
"Who are you?" The doctor asked, sizing her from head to toe, clearly judging her. But she could care less about what he thought and demanded, "Tell me what is going on right now!" Her voice was now completely raised.
