Chapter 38: He didn’t want to kiss her
David clapped his hands together loudly. "Okay everyone! Time for the main event!"
Sarah and Mason walked over to where David had set up his camera. The studio lights were bright and warm, making everything look like a dream.
"I want you two to stand close together," David said, looking through his camera. "This is supposed to be romantic, remember? You’re newlyweds!"
Sarah moved closer to Mason, but there was still space between them. She could smell his cologne and feel the warmth from his body.
"Closer!" David called out. "I can’t even tell you two are married!"
Mason put his hand on Sarah’s waist, pulling her against his side. Sarah’s heart started beating faster. His touch was gentle but firm.
"Better!" David said, snapping a few photos. "Now look at each other like you’re in love!"
Sarah turned to look at Mason. His dark eyes were staring down at her, and for a moment, she forgot they were pretending. He was so handsome, and standing this close to him made her feel strange inside.
"Perfect!" David took more photos. "The chemistry is amazing!"
After a few more shots, David lowered his camera. "Okay, now I want something more romantic. Sarah, put your arms around Mason’s neck. Mason, hold her closer."
Sarah’s cheeks turned pink, but she did what David asked. She reached up and put her arms around Mason’s neck. His skin was warm under her fingers.
