Ch. 208 - Army Breaker Imperial Physique
📢 New Novel Launch!
The beastly image was none other than the Flood Dragon Mastiff Turtle, its head raised high between heaven and earth, towering waves roaring behind it.
In Tan Jiulin’s right hand, black spiritforce swirled as ripples spread across the surface of the Evil God List. A small spatial gate opened up from within it.
From the gate, a beam of light shot out and merged into the body of the Flood Dragon Mastiff Turtle.
As soon as the light entered, the giant beast let out a deafening roar. The chains binding its massive body burst into flames, and...
Boom!
All the chains shattered.
A beastly might, powerful enough to destroy heaven and earth, erupted from its body, sweeping across the entire seabed.
The Flood Dragon Mastiff Turtle raised its head slightly, then bowed twice respectfully toward Tan Jiulin before its figure vanished into the sea in a surge of spiritforce.
At the same time, in Northern Garden City, one of the three ancient statues at the city gates, older even than the city itself, cracked apart.
……
In the Middle Continent, deep within a vast and boundless mountain range,
Inside a pitch-black cave lay a dormant volcano.
Within the magma at its core, intense flames melted the surrounding space. Violent spatial storms raged through the air.
The storms stirred up waves of molten lava, which splashed against the burning rock walls.
In the depths beneath the lava, a gloomy eye slowly opened.
In that moment, the entire magma pool roared to life. Explosions shook the underground as if the volcano were on the verge of erupting.
Thousands of miles above, a floating island hovered in midair, radiating waves of dense immortal energy.
A white mist cloaked the island, which was chained in place by massive links of divine metal.
Deep within that mist, another eye opened.
“The seal of the Flood Dragon Mastiff Turtle has broken. Seems the prophesied one has finally appeared.”
……
On the ocean’s surface, endless snow had frozen everything.
Amid the silence, a sharp crackling noise echoed through the still air.
It continued for a long time, until...
BOOM!
The frozen surface of the sea shattered.
A soaked figure climbed up from the depths.
Tan Jiulin sneezed, hugging her arms as she stood in soaked clothes.
“So cold,” she muttered, glancing around.
She recognized the sea, Rolling Cloud Sea, the largest body of water near Northern Garden City.
The river she’d been pushed into was a tributary of this sea. It made sense, her body had drifted along the river’s current into Rolling Cloud Sea.
But the sea was vast, so large she had no idea where she had washed ashore.
She looked up, surveying her surroundings. She didn’t know how much had changed during her month-long disappearance.
“Maybe they didn’t even notice I was gone,” she said with a bitter smile, her thoughts drifting to that man.
Her face darkened, caught between rage and sorrow.
“Let me take you for some training,” the voice from the Evil God List said calmly. “Your current mindset is nowhere near strong enough to become a true cultivator, let alone seek revenge.”
Tan Jiulin was silent for a moment, then nodded.
Just as she prepared to leave, the sky suddenly twisted, clouds surged, winds howled, and boundless spiritforce rippled through the air.
Even the falling snow stopped.
Looking up, she saw a giant bird descending from the heavens, hovering above her.
It was deep blue, with sharp barbs lining each of its feathers.
Its cry echoed for miles, piercing and shrill. Most oddly, each eye had two pupils.
“Double-Bright Bird,” Tan Jiulin gasped.
“Looks like you already know who I am,” the bird said calmly.
“You’ve come to earn your freedom from the Evil God List too?” she asked curiously.
“Exactly,” Double-Bright Bird nodded and slowly descended.
Its massive form stopped in front of her. With a proud tilt of its head, it spit out a pearl from its mouth.
“For countless millennia, I’ve flown across mountains and forests, endured endless hardship, and finally found the second pearl of the Army Breaker Imperial Physique,” it said softly. “I offer it now in exchange for my freedom. What do you say?”
Tan Jiulin paused, silently pondering the offer.
“I’ll also give you three of my feathers,” Double-Bright Bird quickly added, sensing her hesitation.
