Chapter 753: Sunshine Clones.
Moments later, every giant tv screen on the side of a building went live. Sunshine’s face appeared, and her strong voice rang clear, calm and firm. "Attention residents, the volcanic blasts have started. Our shield and walls will hold steady against this disaster like they have, against others.
The air purifiers are running at full capacity, but we must remain vigilant. Please remember to have your thermal bands on at all times. Stay inside the walls and designated places. Avoid unnecessary trips outside the main gates and report any malfunctions immediately.
For those who wish to follow the disaster coverage, the live broadcast is available on Channel 6 and the holo-screens in every recreation wing will be running 24/7. You will see real time footage of the eruptions, the lava flows, and the shield’s performance metrics.
Please, do not attempt to view the disaster directly from outside the gates--safety comes first. Always walk with your portal oxygen tank and mask. The Reddix vaccine is available for free, to combat lung infections.
You are protected. This base was built for resilience. Let’s trust the systems, support one another, and stay informed through proper channels. Together, we will endure this storm of fire."
Hades looked at the screen in the command room and turned to Lisha. "I know my wife didn’t record that."
She flipped back her shiny hair that had been dyed purple the previous week. "I went over to borrow purple dye from Ariel and saw this mask of Sunshine’s face in her workroom. Tank was scanning it to make a Sunshine doll for Castiel. And...tada! This idea of using AI was born. Ala and I worked on this together. Now, even without her presence physically, everyone knows Sunshine is with us."
He gave her a thumbs up and continued reviewing the footage. Thankfully, there was no massive panic in the base so far.
But he didn’t know was that Lisha had attached the message to drones that were in every ally base. Far and wide, Sunshine’s face was the face of survival in the apocalypse.

Meanwhile, in the Space, Sunshine had just finished another round of training. She was bent over, wiping sweat from her face with a damp towel. Her muscles ached, but her spirit felt strong.
Vortan stood nearby, his arms crossed. For once, he looked satisfied. "You are ready," he said. "I have taught you everything I know. You have the storm bidding skill at the back of your palms now."
Sunshine smiled tiredly. "Thank you, Vortan. I’m beginning the repairs sooner than I expected. I can’t wait anymore."
Vortan reminded her of the danger. "The Xylas will become even more hostile if they find out you are closing the rifts. And they will find out. I heard that they have a target on your back, Sunshine. They want to capture you."
Sunshine’s smile faded. "I know. That’s the only thing that scares me. I can’t fix a rift if I’m being kidnapped."
Vortan placed a finger on his chin, thinking deeply. "There could be a solution for that. Clones."
Sunshine stared at him in total disbelief. "Clones? Like... copies of me? You’ve got to be kidding."
["It is a brilliant idea,] the System chimed in her ear.
Vortan nodded. "You use them to distract the Xylas while you work, they will catch up but not immediately. If you are interested, I know a supplier in the Repair Mall."
"I’m very interested," Sunshine said, her eyes widening. "Let’s go."
They teleported to the Repair Mall, a massive, floating station filled with bright lights and the smell of hot oil and iron. It was crowded with strange creatures and repairmen from all over the galaxies. Sunshine felt a bit dizzy from all the noise, but Vortan marched ahead with purpose.
"Where is this place and how come I have not been here before?" Sunshine said, she believed that she had been to all parts of the repair mall.
[You have been to all parts of the food court, not the entire repair mall.] The system reminded her.
"Noted."
Vortan smiled but kept his eyes forward, "There levels of this mall, now that you are on the Master’s level you have been granted automatic access to this place."
"That makes sense." Sunshine answered
Vortan shook his head, "I believe that it has boosted the black market, a terrible thing in my opinion."
All Sunshine did was nod her head as she gawked at the different robots, clones, high tech weapons. This place had it all.
They arrived at a shop tucked away in a dark corner. The sign above the door read: ’Trip’s copy corner’
Inside, the shop was filled with mannequins that looked way too real. A short, round male that looked like a turtle with human like features, four arms and a magnifying glass over one eye scurried out.
"Vortan! You old bucket of bolts!" the man chirped. "It has been a while."
"Trip, I see that you are still in business." Vortan said in a friendly tone.
Trip looked at Sunshine, "Who’s the female? She looks somewhat famous. I know I have seen her before."
"This is Sunshine," Vortan said stiffly. "The repairman that fixed the sky bridge in Elitope."
Trip put the magnifying glass on the table, "My oh my, autograph please."
Sunshine looked at Vortan as if asking for his permission, he nodded and she sighed a picture that had her name on it.
"This is for my niece, she is a repairman like you, just two days in." Trip said gleefully, "How can I be of service to you."
"We need high-quality clones of her. With the best energy signatures." Vortan answered
Mick whistled, his four arms waving. "First class ones? That’s expensive, you know that. But for you, I’ll give you the celebrity discount."
He led them to a back room where several pods were humming. He tapped a button, and a pod opened. Inside was a figure that looked exactly like a human. It was wearing clothes and even had a messy ponytail.
Sunshine walked up to it and poked its cheek. It felt like soft plastic, but it was warm. "It’s... it’s too human This is so weird."
"Watch this," Trip said. He flipped a switch.
The clone’s eyes snapped open. It looked at Sunshine and gave a perfect, cheerful wave. "Hi! I’m human 135! I love walking in the rain, watching soap operas and eating pizzas!" the clone said in a slightly robotic version of a human voice.
Sunshine burst out laughing. "This is amazing Vortan."
Vortan looked at the clone, then at Sunshine. "It can be quite unsettling at first, but the personality needs work."
"We are going to need your DNA signatures which we will imprint in the clone," Trip explained. "Then we will hand it a toolbox, and you will be good to go."
Vortan nodded, "To a Xylas scanner, this thing will look exactly like you. It will confuse them. How many do you need?"
"Make 50 of them, who knows when I will need them." Sunshine answered.
Trip shrugged and said her order will be ready in a a day. "Please step into the booth."
