Apocalyptic Rebirth: With a repairman system space, she rises again.

Chapter 66: Animals acting bizzare.

In Fortress Four, a bonfire was going in the second wall area. People from every wall gathered around the fire with their food, drinks and stories. A group of soldiers that used to to be part of the army band were playing their instruments and singing. Some people were dancing, and others were laughing.

Children had already struck new friendships, and they were chasing each other around the fire and playing other games.

For people that knew the world would soon change in a bad way, they were oddly relaxed and having a good time.

As it was night, Carson Warnock was outside with his sister. He had a thick jacket on, and the head covered most of his face. He was nursing a beer, listening to Willy regale a group of soldiers on the ugly details of the private life of President Finch.

He had just reached the pivotal part of the story when the first lady was about to walk in on the president and his mistress having relations on his desk while three presidents of other countries and a bishop were waiting next door.

Sister Ana Belle was not comfortable listening to this so she turned away and looked at the women closest to her that were discussing what life would be like without all the electric gadgets and the internet.

"The children seem to be loving it here. Isn’t it amazing how they are capable of adapting so quickly to change?" Sister Ana Belle commented, a wistful look crossed her eyes. She was wishing she had no worries like the little ones.

Staff sergeant Erica waved at Lyra who was introducing some girls her age to her barbie doll. "My only worry is how to keep them alive. You heard President Sunshine, the things that fly and those that travel in the ground can still reach us. Some of us have already lost enough." A pained expression settled on her face.

Her husband was a soldier, and he was one of those that had not returned from the mist. She was also on the list of soldiers called in to move to Fort Slide base for Secretary Ceasar’s mission. If Commander Grayson had not called her, she never would have known. Her daughter would probably be an orphan now, left to die in the apocalypse with no one to save her.
