Chapter 10: One a coincidence...two...maybe not.
Hades Quinn was a shrewd man. To grow his business empire, he had taken many risks, survived many assassination attempts, skipped many meals and even said prayed many prayers and made many wishes at his most desperate moments.
To stay ahead of his competitors, he took all information to be important, no matter how small it was. It was why he investigated everything as if it was a specimen under a microscope and only when he was satisfied, did he make a decision.
Sunshine’s claim was extraordinary, her powers even more so. A wise businessman knew not to put all of his eggs in one basket. If what she said was false, all he would risk was losing a little money that could always be made back.
If she was right and he did not act in time....it was not just his life at risk, his parents, his sons and all of his family would be doomed. So, he put aside his prejudices and decided to listen. Knowledge in the end was power. "Tell me more on the apocalypse that you think is coming."
Sunshine did not like how he made it sound like it was all in her head. But, if she were in his shoes, she would have kicked him out already for spouting nonsense about an apocalypse without any evidence.
She was only a believer because she had experienced it.
"Your company is one of the investors in the government’s projects on climate mitigation. Am I correct?"
Moving his head up and down, Hades agreed with her. "It is true that I am funding some of the international united government projects to provide relief to the masses of suffering people affected by the unnaturally hot weather conditions.
But these experiments are not being done on earth, they are being carried out on Mars. I have been told that scientists are looking into a way of controlling the weather manually. Are you saying that this is what is going to cause the apocalypse?"
