She could not believe this. Detention. Already.
All because she dared to test out her magic in the most boring class known to mankind.
The prefect of discipline stood before her, arms crossed, radiating the disappointment of a mother who just found out you spent your entire allowance on cake instead of responsible things.
"Lady Verena," she sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You are in detention on the first day of term. Do you have any idea how impressive that is?"
"It's called efficiency."
"Efficiency?"
"Yes. Why waste weeks building up to trouble when I can get it out of the way immediately?"
A chair scraped as she sat down, rubbing hertemples like she was reconsidering every life choice that had led her here.
"Lady Verena, do you even know why you're here?"
