Chapter 22: Seducing Evelyn In The Bathroom (1)
"Sorry, Beatrice—gotta go!" Verena called over her shoulder before lunging forward and grabbing Evelyn by the wrist.
"L-Lady Verena?!" Evelyn gasped, stumbling over her own feet as she was dragged along.
They weaved through the madness, dodging flying trays, spilled drinks, and students diving for cover like this was some kind of battlefield.
A plate shattered mere inches from Verena's head. A bowl of soup went airborne. Someone was crying.
By some miracle or dumb luck, they burst out of the cafeteria and into the hallways, breathless and unscathed.
But Verena wasn't about to slow down. She needed somewhere to hide. Somewhere those two lunatics wouldn't bother looking.
Then, she saw it.
She swung open the nearest bathroom door and all but shoved Evelyn inside before slamming it shut behind them.
Verena slumped against the door, catching her breath. "Finally..." she exhaled, relief washing over her.
