OVERVIEW
Irasios Academy is the most prestigious magical institution in the world, specializing in Zodiac Weaving, a form of celestial magic that channels the power of the twelve zodiac constellations and their planetary rulers. Students train to weave cosmic energy into spells, artifacts, and fate-altering techniques.
Built on an ancient leyline convergence, the academy itself is a mystical structure that shifts subtly with celestial movements. Every twelve years, the academy undergoes a phenomenon called the Grand Astral Shift, restructuring itself to align with the dominant Zodiac Era.
HISTORY AND FOUNDING
Founded over 3,000 years ago, Irasios Academy was established by the legendary mage Grandmaster Caelus Irasios, the first known Zodiac Weaver. He discovered that the cosmos was not just a distant force but a living, breathing system of magic that could be harnessed through careful study and attunement.
At first, the academy was a small order of scholars, but as astrology and magic became intertwined with civilization, Irasios Academy grew into a grand institution, shaping world leaders, master weavers, and celestial warriors.
SIGNIFICANT EVENTS
- The Eclipse War (842 A.C.) – A major conflict where rogue weavers attempted to "unbind fate" by severing planetary connections, nearly destroying the school. The war led to the Creation of the Twelve Guardians, legendary figures whose souls are eternally bound to protect the academy.
- The Cosmic Rapture (1576 A.C.) – A failed experiment where students attempted to summon the "Thirteenth Sign," Ophiuchus, causing an unstable tear in reality. The incident is now forbidden knowledge among students.
- The Grand Astral Shift (Occurs Every 12 Years) – A complete reconfiguration of the academy's architecture, shifting buildings, altering classroom locations, and reshuffling dormitories based on the celestial cycle.
