The day after Jiang An moved into her new home, Ji Wanwan brought Gao Yan to visit, and as soon as the door opened, the child rushed in to hug her.
While they were affectionately cuddling, Ji Wanwan, holding a bunch of stuff, walked around the apartment to have a look.
Jiang An rented a duplex apartment with a relatively simple decoration style, a simple one-bedroom and one-living room setup. Although small in size, it had all the essentials and seemed reasonably satisfactory on the surface.
Ji Wanwan brought a lot of ingredients, and the two adults started to busy themselves in the kitchen, leaving the child alone in the living room watching cartoons.
Ji Wanwan burst into loud laughter when she learned that Shen Mei wanted to acknowledge her as a goddaughter the day before; her uninhibited laughter echoed through the kitchen.
Jiang An was almost frightened by it and also curved her lips into a smile. She was equally amused hearing Shen Mei’s proposal yesterday and never expected the elderly couple to like her so much.
"Looks like Ms. Shen really wants to treat you well, did you agree?" Finally calming down, Ji Wanwan turned around and glanced at Jiang An, asking curiously.
"Of course not." Jiang An replied decisively, worried that agreeing would further complicate their relationships.
Ji Wanwan chuckled softly again, "I guess the old lady still cares about you as her daughter-in-law and wants you to visit them more often."
"But honestly, Jiang An, tell me the truth, do you and Gao Chuan still have a chance?" The woman paused for a while, then suddenly asked her.
