After calming down the emotionally stirred Shen Mei, Ji Wanwan spent the night by the elder’s bedside, only planning to get up and leave at dawn. When she opened the door, she found Gao Chuan still keeping watch outside the hospital room.
The man had sat in the chair all night long.
Seeing Ji Wanwan walk out, Gao Chuan slowly stood up, his voice hoarse as he inquired about the elder’s condition.
