Chapter 99: The Fox Faces the Little Cat
Gao Chuan took advantage of the girl turning around to yank one of her arms, pulling her entire body into his embrace. Jiang An was forced to step back a few paces and ended up sitting on the man’s lap. She fell squarely into the man’s arms, and her heart skipped a beat unconsciously.
By the time Jiang An reacted, she could already feel the man pressing tightly against her back, her ears quickly turning red. She heard the man’s voice, slightly weary, coming from behind her: "When did you get back?"
Jiang An felt Gao Chuan’s hand pressing firmly against her waist, her face blushing like the twilight sky, and she stuttered in response, "Around nine o’clock."
With her back to Gao Chuan, Jiang An couldn’t see the tired expression on the man’s face at that moment. Although they had held hands and kissed before, they had never engaged in such intimate gestures. She was caught off guard and felt the man lowering his head onto her shoulder, causing a tickling sensation on her neck. The girl’s voice trembled as she asked, "Are you done with your work?"
Gao Chuan quietly buried his head in the girl’s shoulder, and a muffled "Hmm" emerged from his chest.
Jiang An, feeling the weight from behind, tensed up and didn’t dare move. She felt the man’s hot breath on her fair skin, silencing her for a moment, unable to utter a word.
The two remained in this position. Jiang An, having just taken a bath, was exuding a fragrance of jasmine. The man, inhaling such a scent, silently closed his eyes.
Jiang An seemed to have some magical power; as long as he was near her, all the troubles in his heart would dissipate.
