Chapter 63 - 62 Dr. Gao’s Meticulous Care
The next day, as the light of dawn brightened, the first glimmers of morning appeared.
Everything from last night seemed like an unreachable dream. Jiang An climbed out of bed, pulled the lake blue curtains aside, and gentle rays of sunlight poured in, illuminating the girl’s dark pupils.
Gao Chuan, who also went to bed late last night, uncharacteristically got up at eight o’clock. Still a bit grouchy from waking, his hair messy, he walked with a solemn face to the bathroom only to find the girl already standing by the sink, wearing pink home attire. Because of her injury, she was trying to squeeze toothpaste onto her toothbrush with one hand, a task she hadn’t completed when a hand reached from behind and took the toothpaste from her. Jiang An turned around puzzled, just in time to see the man pick up the toothbrush from the sink and, without a word, squeezed a dab of toothpaste onto it. The tall man silently stood behind her and, having finished, handed it to her.
In the somewhat cramped bathroom space, Jiang An sensed the closing distance between them and obediently took the toothbrush, saying, "Thank you."
The sleepy-eyed man then positioned himself beside Jiang An, lazily turning toward the mirror. His gaze accidentally met that of Jiang An, who was brushing her teeth, and caught her sneaking peeks at him before she quickly lowered her eyes and brushed earnestly.
The man’s lips curved slightly, and he casually fixed his messy hair, his voice hoarse from just waking up, "Brush longer to remove the plaque and bacteria from your teeth."
Hearing the man’s quiet reminder, Jiang An’s movements abruptly paused, and her face flushed considerably as she nodded her head vigorously, her mouth full of foam embarrassingly.
Therefore, Little Jiang An had no choice but to stand next to Dr. Gao, brushing diligently for a full three minutes. She watched in the mirror as the two of them brushed their teeth in unison, feeling her mouth grow sore from her own efforts while Dr. Gao seemed to brush with leisure and comfort.
Subsequently, the girl came to a conclusion that even Dr. Gao’s tooth-brushing was "elegant."
