Chapter 20 - 19: Divorce Will Be Very Troublesome Later On
Jiang An called out anxiously twice before Gao Chuan, who was standing at the doorway lost in thought, snapped back to reality. He walked up behind her, and the curves of her fair-skinned back, tightly wrapped in a black lace bra, were fully displayed in his wavering gaze. He took a deep breath, his eyes solemn, and his gaze slightly distant.
Jiang An was aware of her own awkward situation. Her cheeks flushed red as she clutched her skirt, her waterfall-like black hair draped over her delicate shoulders, and a faint touch from the man behind her as he leaned in made her lower her head and bite her soft lips.
Gao Chuan used his fingers to gently remove the strands of hair caught in the zipper and slowly ran his fingertips over Jiang An’s smooth skin. The girl in front of him trembled sharply as the man swallowed hard and deftly pulled up the zipper.
A husky voice sounded from behind her, "All done."
Gao Chuan straightened up and observed Jiang An. The apricot-colored cinched waist dress accentuated her figure, slim and curvy like the willows in spring. His eyes darkened as he watched Jiang An still looking downwards, murmuring a "thank you."
"I’ll wait for you in the living room." Gao Chuan withdrew his gaze indifferently and slowly left Jiang An’s room.
Only when the door closed did Jiang An finally raise her head slightly, pursing her lips gently, her face flushed red, and her heart felt like a deer jumping inside.
Afterwards, Jiang An took fifteen minutes to apply a light makeup and joined Gao Chuan for a drive to Mr. Gao and Mrs. Gao’s residence at Nuanyang District. Familiar with the place by now, as soon as they entered the door, indeed Shen Mei pulled Jiang An in with a smile, and the golden retriever that nearly knocked Jiang An over last time now circled around her excitedly with its tongue out.
Jiang An, who had thought it was just a meeting with Gao Chuan’s parents, was suddenly at a loss when she entered and saw a large gathering in the living room. Gao Chuan, following behind and changing shoes, was also taken aback upon seeing that Shen Mei had invited uncles, aunts, and a host of other relatives. Before he could speak, Jiang An was pulled by Shen Mei into the crowd and introduced with a hearty laugh: "See, I didn’t lie to you, my daughter-in-law is beautiful, isn’t she!"
