Chapter 7 - 6 I Closed My Eyes and Saw You
You are the wind. I am the fire. You caress me. You also extinguish me. — "Gently, Violently"
After leaving the hospital, Gao Chuan drove the car wanting to go home to rest, but he received a call from home halfway there. Shen Mei just wanted to inquire about his recent blind dating situation. Gao Chuan intended to muddle through as usual, but today Shen Mei started yelling like she had gunpowder: "Why don't you listen, I am anxious for your sake! You are already thirty today, do you want to remain single for life? If you can't find a girlfriend, where can I put my old face!"
Mother kept on talking non-stop, her voice transmitting to Gao Chuan's ears through the phone, like incessant noise.
"Son, please, I am begging you, even if you don't think about yourself think about Grandma. You don't know, I went to the hospital to visit the old lady yesterday, she kept talking about you settling down. Can you please not worry her anymore?"
"Can you let her leave this world happily?" Mother's anger finally transformed into a helpless plea.
Gao Chuan listened to Shen Mei's intermittent crying, silently sighed, "Mm, got it. Tell Grandma I'll visit her in a few days, tell her to focus on recuperating without worries."
The phone was hung up, the "beep beep" sound reached his ears.
Gao Chuan could even imagine the indignant expression on Shen Mei's face as she disconnected the call, feeling a sense of shame for the first time.
That was his mother.
The defensive line in his heart completely collapsed, the familiar facial expressions again surfaced before his eyes, he stopped the car, turned around, and set off again.
Turning around, he encountered a one-minute red light among the coming and going vehicles; some stopped, and others continued to drive.
