Chapter 1087: Her World Is Shrouded in Darkness (7)
At first glance, she seemed quite normal, but there was something slightly off about her, suggesting that she was definitely different.
Then, the phone rang. She stood up and walked smoothly to where it was placed, along the way, avoiding the sofa and cabinets without any hesitation, but her steps seemed calculated, each step identical in size.
Behind the camera, Director Zhang, who had been indifferently observing, suddenly sat up straight.
This audition scene was very simple, but the simpler it was, the harder it was to portray. The previous auditioning actors were too deliberate in showing that the protagonist was a blind character: staring blankly around with a confused look, afraid others wouldn’t know she couldn’t see.
Occasionally, some would perform a bit better, but none satisfied Director Zhang.
But Su Wanwan surprised him.
Because at first glance, she didn’t look like a blind person at all, moving freely, calmly, accurately answering the phone.
Yet, this was exactly how someone born blind would behave. She wasn’t suddenly blind, so she wouldn’t wallow in self-pity or be heavily affected; she was accustomed to this life, hence her natural movements. After all, this was her own home, a place she’d walked countless times, where her steps were calculated numerous times; even though she couldn’t see, it didn’t affect her ability to accurately find what she wanted.
She wasn’t like the blind person people usually perceive, yet it was certain, she wasn’t like a normal person.
Receiving the call, she walked to the wardrobe, opened it, and reached out to feel it, seemingly judging the material. At this point, people started to vaguely guess there might be something wrong with her eyes.
After getting dressed, she left home, touched the keys at the entrance, placed them in her bag, and shut the door, holding a cane, started descending the stairs.
At this moment, everyone suddenly realized she was blind.
Three minutes were up.
Su Wanwan ended her performance and turned to bow towards the director.
Director Zhang remained silent for a long time.
On the other side, from the moment Su Wanwan began performing, Yang Ru had stopped conversing with President Qian and was intently watching.
President Qian suddenly spoke: "This actor isn’t part of our ET, but she seems very talented. What do you think, President Yang?"
Yang Ru nodded: "Very good."
He didn’t know why Su Wanwan suddenly came to audition, but since she had an interest in acting, Yang Ru naturally wanted to fulfill her wishes.
President Qian smiled meaningfully: "As long as President Yang likes it."
Yang Ru frowned, realizing President Qian might be misunderstanding something, so he said softly: "President Qian is joking; this girl is a friend of a relative."
"I see." President Qian responded, though internally he was unimpressed, thinking Yang Ru was deliberately saying this for the sake of face.
Director Zhang finally spoke: "Have you acted before?"
Su Wanwan shook her head.
"Are you a student in the performing arts department?" Director Zhang continued to ask.
Su Wanwan shook her head again.
"That’s odd," Director Zhang chuckled, "You performed very well. Please go out; if there’s a result, we’ll notify you."
Upon hearing this, Su Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief and departed.
Outside the room, Zhou Miaomiao was nervously waiting; upon seeing Su Wanwan come out, she immediately rushed over excitedly: "Wanwan, how did it go, how did it go, how did it go?"
