Chapter 795 Miniature Bomb (7)
Only one bedside lamp was lit in the room.
Mu Yiliang half-propped herself up and tucked Xiaoze in, looking up to see Yan Sijue’s still alert gaze.
She instinctively locked eyes with him, unable to look away for a long time.
This glance seemed to hold so many things, and in the man’s eyes, she also saw complex emotions.
Mu Yiliang felt her breathing getting a bit erratic, she lowered her eyes and said softly, "Sleep, we have to get up early tomorrow."
She was the bride and had to start preparing early in the morning.
Yan Sijue extended his arm, reaching over Xiaoze, and grasped her hand.
"Yiliang, we’ll definitely have a smooth day tomorrow, right?" His eyes were dark and deep, yet there was a trace of panic seeping out.
Mu Yiliang felt a tremor in her heart and nodded gently, "We will."
Only then did he smile and gently said, "Go to sleep, good night."
"Good night."
She said, her voice trembling slightly.
The bedside lamp went out.
Tomorrow, the future was still unknown. In the dark, she could only desperately suppress her fear.
...
In the middle of the night.
Mu Yiliang opened her eyes, quietly got out of bed, and left the room, almost without making a sound.
Lan Yueru’s room was at the end of the corridor. She walked to the door and knocked lightly, the low sound of talking seemed to come from within.
Soon, the door opened, and Yang Ru stood inside, his face with unmistakable fatigue, but upon seeing Mu Yiliang, he still tried to smile.
"Lady Mu, you’re here." His voice was hoarse when he spoke, "The boss won’t find out, right?"
Mu Yiliang shook her head, "I had him drink some milk before bed, it had sleeping elements."
"That’s good, come in quickly." Yang Ru said, stepping aside to make way.
In the room, Lan Yueru sat on the sofa, her eyes slightly reddened, looking somewhat distraught. Two people who looked like experts stood to the side, whispering to each other.
Judging by their expressions, the situation didn’t seem particularly optimistic.
Mu Yiliang’s heart sank slightly.
She first approached Lan Yueru, crouched down, and took her hand. Her voice choked up as she started to speak, "Aunt Lan, I’m sorry..."
Lan Yueru shook her head, "How could it be your fault? I never imagined..."
As she spoke, her eyes reddened again, and she quickly turned her face away.
Mu Yiliang sighed softly in her heart.
For Lan Yueru, the fear of possible death might be light compared to the pain of Xin’s betrayal... She trusted Xin so much, only to receive such an outcome.
Mu Yiliang turned her gaze to the two experts, "Is there a way?"
The two looked troubled.
Yang Ru sighed and explained on their behalf, "It’s not that it can’t be removed, but there’s a risk."
Mu Yiliang’s heart grew heavier, she laughed bitterly and closed her eyes.
Lan Yueru took a deep breath and spoke, "I’ll take the risk, I don’t want something so deadly left in my head. Let’s do the surgery, before Si Jue finds out."
Mu Yiliang’s nose tingled, she shook her head, "No!"
Yang Ru explained with a bitter smile, "Madam, if the risk wasn’t significant, it might be worth a try, but this kind of bomb is too peculiar, it explodes upon contact with air... One could say that the risk of failure is normal, success... is the real miracle. Furthermore, if we fail, it won’t just be you affected, but also the doctors and experts performing the surgery."
