Chapter 718: Did You Miss Me? (5)
From the moment Yanyi became pregnant, Qin Jiran had already thought that no matter when, he would always stand by Yanyi’s side. As for the children, well, good luck to them; Daddy would be cheering for them.
After Su Yanyi entered the crew, the progress of filming obviously improved, especially Qin Jiran’s scenes, where most were done in one or two takes. This time, Qin Jiran’s acting was not only convincing personally, but he also seriously brought his counterparts into their roles, expressing emotions accurately and performing actions spot-on. It allowed the supporting actors to easily immerse themselves in their characters, much to the amazement of Mike, who was watching and growing increasingly admiring of Qin Jiran’s acting skills.
The diligent, hard-working, and serious Qin Jiran finally had more time to spend with Yanyi and the children. On the first night of Yanyi’s arrival, Qin Jiran personally cooked a very sumptuous meal in the small hotel kitchen for Su Yanyi. It had already been a month and a half since he last cooked for Yanyi, and he really felt a bit different this time.
In the past, when he cooked for Yanyi, it was to take good care of her, to make her happy and joyful while eating. Of course, there was also a part of him that hoped it would make Yanyi like him more. He still remembers that at the beginning of their relationship, they always ate together, and that was how their feelings for each other developed.
However, now the sensation was a bit different than before. Aside from wanting to take care of Yanyi and make her happy while eating, he felt an even stronger sense of joy and fulfillment, moved and blissful. With every additional bite of food Yanyi ate, he felt an added sweetness and happiness.
"Eat more, I feel like you’ve thinned out. Have you been too tired from work?" Qin Jiran was too focused on serving food to Yanyi to eat himself, keeping on adding dishes to her bowl and scrutinizing her carefully, from head to toe, as if trying to imprint her image into his mind.
"I have lost weight." Su Yanyi had felt it herself, her appetite diminishing more and more—no chance of putting on weight.
"Then eat more and regain it." Su Yanyi’s acknowledgment made Qin Jiran’s heartache even more. He served her several more pieces of meat, feeling slightly guilty in his heart. It was all because he was too busy with work and didn’t have time to take care of Yanyi. Otherwise, how could he let Yanyi lose weight?
Qin Jiran felt guilty, but what he didn’t consider was that it was Su Yanyi herself who had pushed him to go out and work.
That evening, Su Yanyi ate two bowls of rice and devoured nearly half of the meat and vegetables. Seated there, she felt slightly uncomfortable, patting her belly which seemed genuinely overstuffed.
Looking up at Qin Jiran, she saw him cleaning up the remaining food. She glanced toward the side, where the two children had just been fed and were now sleeping soundly.
