After the judges took their seats, it was time for the contestants to perform. As the opening act and definitely a top-seeded contestant, this was arranged by Qin Jiran. A very promising singer-songwriter was kicking things off with his own composition, a song called "Youth with Love".
The competition began, and Qin Jiran listened attentively throughout. The camera crew worked hard to capture every spectacular moment, and the recording went on until late.
By the time Qin Jiran got home, it was already past nine in the evening. He hadn’t had dinner and looked exhausted. His first action upon arriving home, however, was to look for Yanyi. She wasn’t in the living room, the dining room, the upstairs lounge, or the study. That left only the bedroom, and when he pushed the door open, there was Yanyi, sitting in bed reading, dressed in a silken nightgown, a touch of laziness in her demeanor.
Seeing her like this, Qin Jiran felt the weariness dissipate from his body, replaced by a warm and blissful sensation.
Qin Jiran shed his coat and climbed onto the bed. Su Yanyi, of course, saw him and watched with amusement as he cuddled up to her waist and rubbed his head against her, before becoming still.
"Go take a shower," Su Yanyi prodded his head with her finger and spoke with a touch of disdain. Trudging back from a dusty day’s work and flopping directly into bed—it wasn’t a great habit, honestly.
Feeling a bit rejected, Qin Jiran seemed a little forlorn as he nuzzled Su Yanyi again and said in a low voice, "Wife, I missed you."
