"What do you think Qin Haowen most wants to do now?" Su Yanyi didn’t answer but asked in return, showing an interest in testing Qin Jiran.
Qin Jiran felt a bitter smile coming on. He had no interest in whatever Qin Haowen wanted to do, but he still guessed, "Get revenge on Qin Chu, I suppose. He must hate Qin Chu with a passion."
"But he can’t find Qin Chu, so what do you think he would do instead?" Su Yanyi continued to lead on.
Qin Jiran thought for a moment, "Get revenge on Qin Zhenyi?" The idea of the son repaying the father’s debts was understandable.
"Not just Qin Zhenyi. Qin Zhenren ignored him; his targets for revenge also include Qin Zhenren. So, his coming to me, I guess, is because he wants to collaborate with me to deal with the Qin family," Su Yanyi deduced, based on Qin Haowen’s actions—surveilling the Qin family members and actively spreading word of the Qin family’s violent behavior, it was clear that his intentions were to strike at the Qin family, or even destroy it.
Upon further reflection, Qin Jiran huffed coldly once he understood. True siblings indeed; both Qin Zhenren and Qin Zhenyi were just as cruel and merciless.
At that thought, Qin Jiran inevitably reflected on himself. He too was cold and merciless, very much resembling the Qin bloodline. Otherwise, how could he stand by, indifferent to the Qin family’s infighting? What’s more, even allowing Yanyi to take the lead in all of this. Yet, he was different from the other members of the Qin family. He was fortunate to have found that most precious touch of warmth in his life, preventing him from becoming so cold-hearted that he lost his humanity.
