Four weeks? Hearing this number, both Qin Jiran and Su Yanyi’s expressions changed slightly.
Su Yanyi’s face was cold as she feigned calm. She had prepared herself for this before coming. It was rare for a woman to know she was pregnant from the very beginning, and for her to impulsively reveal such a thing was probably the only foolish thing she would ever do.
As for Qin Jiran, he found it utterly incredible. Four weeks? That was exactly when he had just learned that he was going to be a father! And this meant, didn’t it, that Yanyi knew she was pregnant right from the start?
Qin Jiran’s gaze upon Su Yanyi became somewhat strange. Su Yanyi felt it but chose to ignore it outright as she had no intent to explain.
"Uh..." Qin Jiran hesitated to speak, not sure what he was trying to say, because as soon as he got two words out, Su Yanyi interrupted him.
"The checkup’s done, let’s go to the company. There’s a meeting this afternoon." Su Yanyi stood up as if ready to leave.
"Wait a minute, I want to ask the doctor some things to be careful about, okay?" Qin Jiran held Su Yanyi’s hand, feeling somewhat amused inside. Yanyi’s evasive attitude, though not obvious, was something he caught onto. It seemed better not to ask about the timeline of the child’s existence.
"Then you ask." As long as he didn’t ask her why she knew about her pregnancy so early, Su Yanyi had no objections to whatever else Qin Jiran wanted to ask.
The smile on Qin Jiran’s face grew even more apparent. Yanyi like this, although seemingly hiding some secret from him, still seemed adorable to him.
Qin Jiran spoke with the doctor for nearly half an hour, asking about many issues to watch out for. The doctor, understanding the mindset of such a father, mentioned many important things. Su Yanyi listened quietly on the side. At first, she paid attention, but as time went on, she found it somewhat tedious. After the System update, her in-built parenting assistance system contained detailed information about pregnancy care, rendering the doctor’s words somewhat redundant.
However, after being bored for a while, her gaze inadvertently fell on Qin Jiran’s earnest demeanor and suddenly found these matters not so dull after all. At least, looking at Qin Jiran like this, she felt, made listening to these words interesting.
After asking about the necessary precautions, the two of them left, with Qin Jiran carefully guarding Su Yanyi, fearing she might trip or bump into something.
