The meal was a joyful affair for everyone, and they nearly fought over the dishes. Qin Jiran protected both Su Yanyi and Xiao Su Nuo while juggling serving dishes. He himself didn’t eat much, which caused somewhat of an embarrassment among the rest, but they couldn’t really blame him—after all, Mr. Qin’s cooking skills were just too good!
After the meal, Su Yanyi coldly told everyone it was time to leave. The fight had been fought, the meal eaten, and the gathering held; to Su Yanyi, that was enough.
The five of them knew Su Yanyi’s personality well and didn’t linger, but before they left, each left a blessing.
"Boss lady, brother-in-law, even though this is late, I still have to say it. I wish you both grow old together and have a harmonious marriage!"
"Thank you," Qin Jiran said, sincerely holding Su Yanyi’s hand in response.
"Nuonuo, auntie is leaving, I’ll come play with you next time." After saying goodbye to Su Yanyi, everyone else said their farewells to Xiao Su Nuo, who waved his little hand and politely bid them goodbye as well.
After everyone had gone, Xiao Su Nuo tugged at Qin Jiran’s sleeve and timidly asked, "Little auntie’s husband, did you eat enough? You ate so little just now, even less than Nuonuo."
Qin Jiran patted Xiao Su Nuo’s head with an affectionate tone, "Little auntie’s husband has eaten enough. Have you eaten enough, Nuonuo? Would you like some cookies? Shall I make some for you?"
Such a sensible child had truly won his way into Qin Jiran’s heart.
Su Yanyi curled her lips, deciding not to compete with a child. After all, Qin Jiran’s favorite was still herself!
"Thank you, little auntie’s husband, but Nuonuo won’t have any. I’m so full from earlier; I can’t eat another bite," Xiao Su Nuo said, refusing with an expression of reluctance, looking endearingly adorable.
