Chapter 69: The Date
"Where are we going?" asked Su Yanyi, curious as the car zigzagged down the road for a while, wondering where Qin Jiran was taking her.
"Can we start with dinner?" In preparation for their evening date, Qin Jiran had put a lot of thought into it, but the agenda still had to begin with dinner. After all, he knew that Yanyi really did have a fondness for good food.
As soon as food was mentioned, Yanyi’s eyes indeed lit up, but she hesitated and said very seriously, "I prefer what you cook."
Although she had eaten many delicacies, Yanyi couldn’t tell if her taste had dramatically changed after being reborn or if Jiran’s cooking was truly that exquisite. However, she knew that her favorite dishes were the ones prepared by Jiran. Every time she ate his cooking, she couldn’t get enough, which made her feel like she had been gaining weight lately.
Qin Jiran’s smile was warm and filled with satisfaction. Yanyi’s words were the greatest recognition he could receive.
"Don’t worry, you’ll see once we get there," Qin Jiran said cheerfully. Yanyi’s words only confirmed to him that Zhan Minghui was an unreliable playboy. It seemed that he understood Yanyi’s preferences better than anyone else. He resolved never to consult with an advisor again, especially since Yanyi had articulated exactly what he had been thinking.
The two chatted leisurely until they soon reached their destination—a famed artificial sea buffet restaurant known for its variety of seafood and particularly its complete self-service cooking experience. It wasn’t the traditional dining table set-up but resembled a seaside barbecue instead.
When they arrived, there were already some customers inside. Qin Jiran had added a hat to his outfit, which concealed most of his face, and the restaurant covered a large area with many different sections that offered a good deal of privacy. The area Qin Jiran had reserved was the most secluded. Once they picked their desired seafood and beverages, nobody paid them any attention. The atmosphere was optimal, discreet, and most importantly, they could cook for themselves—this was why Qin Jiran had chosen this place.
Su Yanyi clearly enjoyed this arrangement and eagerly selected a variety of foods, while Qin Jiran followed her with an adoring gaze, helping her carry the trays.
