Chapter 50 Let’s give it a try
"Why aren’t you speaking? You don’t want to cooperate with the Su family?" Su Yanyi looked at the silent Qin Jiran, guessing as she asked.
"Of course not, I’m just a bit confused as to why you would agree," Qin Jiran certainly didn’t want to give Su Yanyi the wrong impression that he couldn’t recognize a good opportunity. However, he didn’t want to gloss over the issue either and ultimately decided to make his thoughts clear.

These changes were welcomed with joy, yet he still treaded cautiously.
Remembering all this, Qin Jiran couldn’t help but speculate whether Yanyi, or rather their marriage, held even the slightest seriousness for her, as he hoped—perhaps she thought that they could be together forever?
Qin Jiran felt his heartbeat was becoming erratic again, but just the thought of Su Yanyi taking their marriage even a bit seriously made it impossible for him to calm down.
"Of course, didn’t I say so long ago?" Su Yanyi said matter-of-factly, unclear why Qin Jiran would suddenly ask such a question. But soon after, she frowned and looked at him discontentedly, wondering if he was still thinking about the divorce.
"What you said back then was to discuss the divorce later, not that we wouldn’t divorce," Qin Jiran’s voice was low. He remembered Su Yanyi’s words very clearly, and it was the source of his unease—fearing that she might think of divorce again, leaving him with no chance to make amends.
Su Yanyi glared at Qin Jiran, feeling like he was nitpicking on her words, but she couldn’t deny the truth either. She had to affirm seriously once more, "Then we won’t divorce, and we won’t bring it up again in the future."
