For breakfast, Qin Jiran specially made two types of dim sum for Su Yanyi, and also prepared a lunchbox for her to take to the company. Ever since Su Yanyi mentioned that she liked dim sum, Qin Jiran had been taking time to learn to make them, but he was truly busy. By now, he had only learned to make three or four kinds, yet he would often make them for Su Yanyi to enjoy.
While Su Yanyi happily took the dim sum to the company, unfortunate news occurred. Kang Zhong called to inform her that two media outlets had reported on Su Yanyi and Qin Jiran, with roughly the same content. They claimed Su Yanyi got into a sham marriage to gain freedom, and Qin Jiran would stop at nothing for a higher position. All the information was defamatory towards both Su Yanyi and Qin Jiran. The two media outlets were rivals of Dragon Media. Although neither could compare with Dragon Media alone, combined, they were capable of contending with it. This was why such news was released, catching Su Yanyi and the Su family off guard.
Upon hearing the news, Su Yanyi immediately knew who was behind it. Other than the Wang Family, no one else would spread such rumors.
"President Su, I’ve already initiated some counter-measures and warned other media not to spread the news. However, since the opposition is also mainstream media, the message has already been seen by many," Kang Zhong said with clear dissatisfaction. He didn’t know about Su Yanyi and Qin Jiran’s contract marriage but was aware that there had been some issues between them. It seemed that only recently things had started to improve between the two, which made this annoying issue quite ill-timed for Kang Zhong, who had always hoped for Su Yanyi and Qin Jiran to be happy.

Qin Jiran was contemplating whether to release the information he had uncovered about Wang Zhilin now when Su Yanyi’s call came in.
"Yanyi, I’ll resolve this matter quickly and won’t let it affect you," Qin Jiran had already decided to come forward to explain and to release the information about Wang Zhilin and the Wang Family. The public is forgetful, after all; such rumors, without evidence, would soon dissipate.
