What does ’that’s fine’ mean exactly? Su Yanyi pondered seriously the implication behind Qin Jiran’s words: did he want to sleep, or not?
Both of their minds were highly developed, and coincidentally, they tended to use their intelligence to guess each other’s thoughts. It was probably an issue of having too high IQs—neither liked to be straightforward, always preferring to guess instead. But the guessing led to confusion, as it was never clear.
"Let’s just sleep then," Su Yanyi decided, unable to discern the meaning behind ’that’s fine.’ She felt it was better to sleep. After all, it was already strange enough lying in the same bed. There was no need for more words!
Su Yanyi believed she remained calm and collected, but to Qin Jiran, her words somehow carried a hint of petulance, as if she was pouting!
Qin Jiran thought he must have misheard again because how could Su Yanyi possibly be pouting? That was absolutely inconceivable!
"Good night." Since Su Yanyi had given the go-ahead to sleep, sleep he must. After saying this, Qin Jiran closed his eyes.
Su Yanyi glared with her eyes, uncertain if she was angry or simply frustrated, hastily turned off the light, and pulled the comforter over, ready to sleep as well.
But it was this action of pulling the comforter that made Su Yanyi realize a problem—why was there only one comforter on such a large bed?
