Chapter 37 Half for Each
Upon seeing the siblings come down, Mother Su looked outside; though it was early winter, the biting cold wind gave a very chilly impression. It had been a long time since she had seen both her children together, and she was somewhat reluctant to see them leave. She said, "You haven’t stayed at home for a long time, and it’s getting late. Why don’t you stay over for the night and leave tomorrow?"
Raising children is never easy, and after all the hard work, it is even harder to see them so seldom. The heart of a parent is a world of care, and Mother Su’s wish was simply to see her children more often.
It had also been a long time since Yanmo had seen his family, so he agreed without hesitation.
Qin Jiran had been watching all along, and after hearing Mother Su’s words, he thought a lot. There had been such occasions before, but Yanyi had not stayed, mainly because of him. Although they were husband and wife, they had never shared a room. Staying here would mean they could no longer avoid doing so. Qin Jiran thought about politely declining himself to spare Yanyi the difficulty, but realized his identity didn’t really suit making such a statement.
At this moment, after seemingly giving it some serious thought, Yanyi replied, "Then let’s stay the night and leave in the morning."
Yanyi’s response clearly surprised everyone, especially Mother Su, who immediately showed a very happy smile.
Qin Jiran was naturally surprised as well, but he soon had an idea.
