"I don't know either." She couldn't remember needing Qin Jiran to do anything for her.
Oh, that's not right! Suddenly, Su Yanyi's eyes lit up as if she had thought of something, and she asked, "Are you happy eating with me?"
Qin Jiran's eye twitched, and his complexion became somewhat awkward. He had been preoccupied with contemplating Su Yanyi's strangeness, not giving any thought to whether he was happy or not. But now, with Su Yanyi asking him this question, he did feel a bit uncomfortable. He glanced at Su Yanyi, cleared his throat, and finally said, "It's quite nice."
"If it's quite nice, then why don't you smile?" Su Yanyi seemed truly puzzled, gazing directly at Qin Jiran, waiting for his reaction.
Qin Jiran's mouth twitched as if he wanted to smile but couldn't, which made Su Yanyi frown slightly. Why was it so hard to make this man smile even once! Was it because what she was doing wasn't good enough?
The food arrived quickly. Su Yanyi took a few bites; it tasted nice. Thinking it over, she picked up a piece of the plain-boiled chicken in front of her and placed it onto Qin Jiran's plate, then stared at him.
Qin Jiran was taken aback for a full three seconds before he realized what had happened. He looked at the chicken in his plate and then at Su Yanyi, who seemed to be waiting for something, and said, somewhat flattered, "Thank you!"
Su Yanyi nodded, accepting his thanks, but seeing that Qin Jiran didn't seem to have any further reaction, she grew a bit impatient and directly asked, "And then?"
And then what? Qin Jiran didn't ask out loud, but his expression conveyed the question. Although his expression didn't show much change, Su Yanyi felt it.
Su Yanyi became anxious. How could this man be so oblivious!
"I served you food; are you happy?" She had never served anyone food in her life!
