THE Knight's Hidden Princess

Chapter 186: Depressing Thoughts

DAHLIA POV

I was locked in the hole for a week with no food and water. By the time they let me out I could barely walk on my own two feet so I had to be dragged out. Luckily for me it was during nighttime so I didn’t have to worry about going to spin the wheel. The guards were not gentle with me, they shoved me back into the cell and I fell on my face as they shut the door open.

The first thing I could think off as I laid in the dirt was food. I was so damn hungry and thirsty too. My throat was dry and if I didn’t get any water soon, I was going to die of dehydration and food? Gods, I would kill for a piece of lamb chops right now!

But it seems I was going to be dying soon. If it wasn’t from dehydration, the worms inside of me that were gnawing at my intestines might probably kill me if I didn’t get any food in my stomach soon. Perhaps this was how I die. Death by hunger and lack of moisture! Gods, what a pathetic way to die, I can already imagine what would be written on my headstone.

Here lies Dahlia Hawthorne, hated princess, most hated daughter, piece of shit protector and a failure both as a wife and a mother.

Yeah, fuck my pathetic life!

"Stop whining and eat this." A gruff voice suddenly interrupted my quiet obituary for my self.

I cracked an eye open only to see a hooded figure standing over me with a plate of food and water in the other hand.

"Bra...Branderson?" I called my voice raw and scratchy even to my own ears.

"Well I ain’t no fairy godmother that’s damn sure." Branderson responded earning a chuckle from me.

I managed to pull myself up into a sitting position, leaning against the wall for support. "You read that book?"
