Chapter 174: One Way Or Another
REAGAN POV
The silence that followed after Ivana spoke those lines was loud, safe for Ivar who was still crying hoping someone would notice him but it would seem everyone has got different priorities as of right now. I stared at Ivana with a stern look in my eyes before I decided she wasn’t worth it. Besides, I couldn’t yell at her. She has been a really great help towards Ivar lately so I couldn’t yell at her. Heaving out a sigh, I did the only thing that I could, I left.
"You think she’s going to be happy?" Ivana yelled at me stopping me again in my tracks, "He is your son Reagan and sooner or later, you are going to have to just accept that fact instead of you running away from it."
"You should really drop this Ivana!" Nikolai warned.
"I would listen to him if I were you." I warned as I continued to walk away.
But Ivana was stubborn as hell. "No I won’t!" She countered, "It’s been six fucking months and yes we are all tortured about her death, we are all devastated about it but do you think Dahlia would want to see you like this? You neglecting to take care of your son?"
My hands clenched at my sides at the words Ivana spoke and particularly at the mention of the name. I could feel the pain in my chest, like my heart was wrapped by a chain and being pulled tighter. I knew what she was talking about and I knew it wasn’t fair but I couldn’t bring myself to care, not right now.
"Ivana, that’s enough." Heather mumbled, "Sire is just hurting."
"We all are!" Ivana argued her voice rising, "He thinks it’s easy for us? We were there with her until her final moments and we will have to carry on with that guilt for the rest of our lives. She trusted us with her child because she was hoping you would love him." She said her words with a scoff, "I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have sacrificed herself if she knew this was going to be the outcome of it all. Poor girl is probably turning in her grave at the_"
