Chapter 137: The Princess And A Bunch Of Rebel
Lars stepped out from the shadows and flanking him were four other men but the only people I recognized were Hansel and Nick. Lars voice was authoritative and cold, enough to make Dwayne rethink his decision and take a step backwards but not before he bared his teeth at me, probably to make it seem as if he was more frightening but he wasn’t, there were a lot of scary men in the world but nothing tops my father.
I stared at Lars who crossed his arms as he watched me, his expression inscrutable. His black cloak billowed softly in the night breeze as his gaze flicked between Dwayne and me before settling squarely on me.
"Princess." He drawled out, no sign of respect in his tone, "Fancy seeing you here_"
I took a step forward in all my excitement. "Lars, I_"
"Bah, bah, bah, bah..." Lars stopped me from taking another step forward by raising her hand. "Don’t let’s get comfortable yet." He said staring at me and I didn’t miss the underlying warning in his tone.
A quick survey around my surroundings showed that the men had become tense, their hands resting on their swords. It was a clear sign that I wasn’t welcome here, perhaps I should have thought this through before I came here. Not like I see them as a threat but then I could have thought about it more carefully to be honest.
"How did you find out about this place and don’t you dare think of lying to me." Lars said in a stern voice.
I rolled my eyes but decided to answer his questions truthfully. I told him about the time where I had overheard their conversation about the Kashkil warriors trying to eliminate Reagan and how I had acted on it.
Lars cocked his head at me, "I always wondered why the hellhound never made it past the border, so that was all you."
