Chapter 64: Play Pretend
Reagan’s face paled slightly, his brows furrowed with confusion as he stared at me. "What did you just say?"
"Oh don’t pretend like you didn’t hear me and don’t pretend like this isn’t your fault." I scoffed at him in disbelief.
The look of confusion on Reagan’s face immediately vanished replaced with a look of frustration on his face. His jaw tightened as he glared at me in response, "How is that my fault?"
"Perhaps if you hadn’t been so quick to act in your anger and instate Celeste as your concubine then maybe this wouldn’t have happened!"
"And who said I was acting on my anger? I wanted Celeste as my concubine!" Reagan yelled at me and I had to blink a little at the sudden hurt that I was feeling inside. "It’s a thought I’ve been taking about for a while now, this has nothing to do with my anger." Reagan stated.
I paused for a minute, staring at him trying to see if he was telling the truth or just saying more things to hurt me but Reagan just continued to stare at me, his expression firm and unwavering.
I drew in a breath and straightened, "Well, my father is displeased with your actions, and now he wants me to kill Celeste!"
"And what did you say?" Reagan asked glancing at me.
I arched a brow up at him, "What did you think? I said no, of course but he made it very clear that wasn’t an option."
"Fuck!" Reagan cursed out, the frustration evident in his tone, "You can’t kill Celeste!"
"Do you think I want to?" I retorted, "My father practically gave me no choice at all, it’s either I kill Celeste or I become of no use to him!"
