THE Knight's Hidden Princess

Chapter 26: Say My Name

Reagan could tell that something was going on the moment Edwina and her family decided to leave the house for us. It started when they decided to make a candle lit dinner for us and even though I had protested, they said it was the least gift they could do for us newlyweds. Edwina left, but not before shooting me a wink and told me to have the best night of my life which I now doubt was going to happen.

Reagan hasn't spoken a word ever since we started our private dinner, he just continued eating his food and pouring himself more wine. Meanwhile, I was doing my best not to squirm in my seat. I stared up at Reagan, wishing he would at least say something, or do something, but all he seemed interested in was the food.

"Are you okay?" Reagan asked me all of a sudden, "You've staring at your meal for a long time, is something wrong with it."

I looked down at my still full plate and realized all I had just been doing was pushing it around. "It's okay, I'm okay."

Nodding his head, "Alright," He replied before he stared up at me again. "By the way. Don't you find it strange?"

"Find what strange?" I asked a little too eager.

Reagan narrowed his eyes at me, "The couple just left their home to a couple of strangers, you don't find it strange?"

"Um, no." I responded reaching for my cup of wine, "Should I?"

"Huh." Reagan grunted softly as he reached for his own cup of wine.
