Chapter 131: Has the Prince Become Afraid?
After changing the medicine, Qi Yu and Li Mingjue left the Prime Minister Residence, treading the moonlight, avoiding the patrolling soldiers, and made their way back to the Prince Residence.
By this time, most people in the Prince Residence had gone to bed, except for a few maids who were on night duty.
Qi Yu thought that since dawn was nearly upon them, there was nothing much to watch over, so she let them return to their rooms.
The maids had all grown up in the Prince Residence and, seeing their own Princess clad in black with her hair standing up such that she was indistinguishable from a man, pretended not to notice and expressed their thanks while kneeling, composed as ever.
Once the people had left, Qi Yu pulled Li Mingjue back to their room.
They lit a candle to drive away the darkness inside.
Qi Yu took out the medicine pack from her space, and under the candlelight, examined it carefully. Its color was no different from ordinary herbs, and it seemed to be a prescription for treating colds, not much different from the medicine pack she had left.
But there was a sparse layer of white powder underneath.
She first sniffed it and detected no particular scent, then took out a silk handkerchief and carefully tipped the powder onto it.
"What is this?" Li Mingjue asked, his curiosity piqued by her cautious movements.
